Alcalde Station Juniper
Revisiting A Bit O' Troika to do the "Final" (lol) edit is fun. It's the Fun book I could write forever and never stop. Each entry is a little challenge in making something entertaining, full of potential energy, and short enough to read while pretending you already knew what was in that house.
Honestly, I will probably keep making more once someone has wrestled it out of my hands and into an editor's.
Alcalde Station Juniper
Ripple Road #1
Boris Saypurple, reclusive chief alcalde (Painting, Mathmology, Knife Fighting) 8/16/5/2(steel plated dressing gown)
Modestus Lowness, undercover population adjuster (Disguise) 5/6/2/0
Lewis Vitalina, bumbling junior alcalde (Climb) 5/15/4/0
Harry Pio, enthusiastic interrogator (Wrestle) 5/15/2/1(leather apron)
You could hardly tell this old gin-house was now the offices of the boroughs chief alcalde unless you arrived early enough in the day to catch a junior officer with a bucket of fresh yellow paint covering up last nights graffiti. The inside is a warren of piled files and loose documents, organically dividing the space into discrete cubicles where officers can fill out whatever paperwork is in reach, interview citizens, socialise with fellow officers, or sleep. The chief alcalde, Boris Saypurple, and two dozen cats permanently occupy a series of rooms in the attic from which they rarely emerge. Anyone taking a meeting or a meal to the chief will conduct it through an iron letterbox who's brutally strong spring ensures visitors get to the point and leave him to his investigations. His latest is into the fact that he has no idea who pays the station's wages or issues his orders, and his increasing obsession with this question is leading him to ever more reckless uses of the stations resources in trying to answer it.
