Pdfs and the halving of the soul
Pdfs are not books. A picture of a cat is no more a pet than it is a piece of garden furniture. While I don’t begrudge people buying their postcards of the night watch please don’t invite be ’round to view it.
Books have character, talismanic power, entire landscapes of emotive presence. You can’t just hum the tune and expect people to feel god.
The lack of soul is an expected condition in everything we do and thus we never question it.
